“…without an idea a programmer is like a brick layer without any plans.  The Big Ideas ICT Competition offers young people the opportunity to think differently and come up with next generation of ideas”.

Paul Callaghan, Chairman Designate - One North East

“Big Ideas ICT Youth Challenge offers a valuable insight into the business world.  It encourages young people to come up with ideas but also shows them how to develop business plans and look at vital issues like finance and IPR.  I wouldn’t have thought it was possible but it keeps getting better and better every year”.

Simon Roberson, Director for the North East - BT

Supporter and Judge of BIYC from 2007

“Engineering and IT are male dominated sectors – Big Ideas Youth Challenge breaks this stereo type and will help to redress the gender balance for future generations”.
